Anyone who knows me has to admit I’m a diehard shopper. Shopping in Uzès was paradise!

A dream come true.

Of course, my first stop while shopping in Uzès would be to buy something “irresistible.” Who could help from walking into this boutique? Promise, I found something more suitable than all the ruffles.

There’s more than shopping in Uzès.

Oh yes, I did take a few minutes to walk by THE fountain. The one that entranced me two years ago.

Uzes France

The fountain at Place aux Herbes, or “Fontaine des Capucins,” was built in 1670 during the reign of King Louis XIV.  It was commissioned by the local Capuchin monks, who were a branch of the Franciscan order. The simple but elegant lion-head fountain is perhaps one of the most recognizable landmarks in Uzès. It’s certainly one of the more popular spots where tourists and Uzetians hang out on hot summer days.

Tomorrow, it will be surrounded by Saturday Market vendors. See you there!
